Tanya Ishikawa was appointed unanimously to the Federal Heights City Council in Colorado on Tuesday, Dec. 18. The member of the Adams-Jefferson Green Party chapter will serve two years, the remaining term of the Ward I councilmember who vacated the seat when elected mayor.
Tanya was chosen by the six councilmembers, from five residents of Federal Heights Ward I who put in requests for the appointment. She was immediately sworn into office and voted on the issues on the council's agenda for the evening (except for two which she felt unprepared to decide so quickly).
Thank you to the Green Party members who supported Tanya in attaining this seat. She is excited to to help make her city an economically and environmentally sustainable place to live.
