Here's a few activities around "Why Shop", an anti-consumerism movement focused on the Friday  after Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving Day
The Thanksgiving edition of KGNU's Thursday night call-in show 11/23  will 
feature Tom Liadjes from Adbusters Media Foundation (aka, Adbusters) --
he's  the campaign director for "Buy Nothing Day", which is this Friday, 11/24.  
If you were planning to hit the stores for discounted cranberries on
Friday,  or if every day is "buy nothing day" at your house, this would be a show to
catch. And please...call in with questions and comments! Rob Smoke will 
host.  That's 6 pm mdt, Thursday, at 88.5 FM, or kgnu.org on the net.

Friday, Nov. 24

10 a.m to 2 p.m. Pearl Street Mall-The Radical Cheerleaders and WAAKE-UP will do street theater and hand out fliers on the mall.

10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pearl Street Mall-Folks from the Rocky Mountain Peace and Justice Center will do tabling on the mall


5 to 7 p.m. 
Buy Nothing Day Street Celebration!!!
To celebrate we're having a public street party.  There will be live music, dancing, food, and if we get a
critical mass we will reclaim the street!!!  In front of Border's Bookstore on Pearl St. (Pearl and 16th),
from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.  Bring an instrument, food to share, and Buy Nothing banners.
