I think Pavlos sent something out the other day, but just to reinforce the idea:
-you do not have to talk to the police or any other investigator, fbi or
whatever, any time, any place; you have the right to remain silent; use it
-you do not have to let the fbi or police into your home or workplace unless
they have a search or arrest warrant; make sure you see the warrant if they
have one, and that it has all the i's dotted and t's crossed and
specifically describes the address, the place(s) to be searched and what
they're looking for
--if they do have a warrant, you don't have to tell them anything except
your name and address; you have the right to observe them, and to get names,
badge #'s, etc.
--if they don't have a warrant, just say no! don't let them search or your home
--if you're given a subpoena for a grand jury, you need to contact a lawyer;
under any circumstances, if you know of a lawyer willing to help (hopefully
we'll have a legal collective soon) just refer the police to him or her.
that will usually end the conversation.

copwatch is willing to do know your rights trainings for anybody; you can
call the office at 303-380-4329, or if there's enough interest for a
specific DAN training, we could set up something at the spokescouncil on Feb. 12

Jill,
I would be willing to come up and help with some type
of training. I have unfortuneatly had some recent
experience with this subject. I saw that Val has also
asked for a Copwatch training. Let me know if I can be
of any help.

Meanwhile,
DON'T TALK TO COPS! They are trained to get info from
you in a variety of ways including seemingly casual
conversations and by simply obseving your body
movements and reactions.
I suggest you read "If An Agent Knocks" A must read
(and re-read) for all activists.
I will also try to forward some more info.

Keep me posted. I'm working a bunch for the next
couple of months but I can come up with a little
advanced planning.
