Hello,
I wanted to give everybody a heads up on a radio program that should be interesting tomorrow. Reggie Rivers will be interviewing Marianne Williamson on his show which runs from 3p to 7p on radio station 630 AM KHOW. She will be discussing her new book, "Imagine," which is a compilation from a variety of activists and scholars about creating new institutions for a progressive society. Williamson has written some good books on democracy, spiritual concerns, and poverty issues. And my guess is that the call-in period will be very thoughtful.
Also, in addition to other events, John Ross will be discussing his book, "The War Against Oblivion: Zapatista Chronicles" at the Cherry Creek Tattered Cover at 1p on Saturday the 10th.
And, just a comment regarding the War on (some) Drugs. I received the following from a group of doctors who have formed something called "The Alchemind Society." Their flyer says, "Since time immemorial, humans have used visionary plants as integral tools for achieving insight and epistemological understanding, and to enter modes of thought conducive to physical and psychological healing. Entheogens such as peyote, marijuana, mushrooms, and ayahuasca have played, and continue to play, a central role in the religious practices of many people. We live in an age of cognitive censorship; an age in which certain drugs and mind states receive State approval while others are forbidden, ridiculed, even criminalized. Members of the Alchemind Society believe that a person's thoughts and thought processes should remian inviolable."
Respect,
Preston
