"This is an extraordinary opportunity to learn from one of THE most
important and effective advocates for non-violent social change of
in our life time. The discussion between George Lakey and Ward Churchill
promises to be intensely fascinating." -- Richard John Kinane, Boulder SOA
Watch
George Lakey, Director of Traing for Change, has been an activist for forty
years working for a world based on equality and peace against class, race,
sex, and heterosexual oppression (not to mention police repression). He has
conducted trainings for coal miners, therapists, homeless, prisoners, Sri
Lankan monks, Burmese guerrilla soldiers, striking steel workers, South
African activists, and anti-globalization protesters in Philadelphia at the
Republican National Convention.
Ward Churchill, a professor of history at CU Boulder, is a leading scholar
on the American genocide and long-time American Indian Movement activist. He
is also an outspoken critic of pacificism---a critique that he formulated in
the book "The Pathology of Pacificism."
