- Subject: [Announce-DAN] training for Amnesty International campaign to stop torture
Amnesty International has recently begun a two-year, over 60 nation Campaign
to Stop Torture, which includes a focus on the US, part. working for passage
of full appropriation for the Torture Victims Relief Act. There will be a
training sponsored by the Colorado cluster of local AI groups for people
interested in learning how to get involved in this campaign TUESDAY,
FEBRUARY 20, 7 PM, DENVER PUBLIC LIBRARY DOWNTOWN, GATES ROOM, 5TH FLOOR.
You don't have to be an AI member to participate in the training or
campaign; everyone is welcome.
AI is making extensive use of the Internet in this campaign, and whether you
come to the training or not, you can sign up for Fast Action Stops Torture
(FAST) which sends out e-mail letters of protest in response to threats of
human rights violations. Go to www.amnestyusa.org to sign up.
