When Puppets are Outlawed,
Only Outlaws will have Puppets!
Calling all Puppetistas and aspiring Puppetistas:
The Puppet Workshop will be on Sunday, March 4 from 10:00-3:00 (come when you can) at Revoluciones, 819 West 8th St, Denver.
We will also have a puppet brainstorming session on Thursday, February 22 at 7:00, at Revoluciones. At the brainstorming session we will have a chance to watch some puppetry videos, check out the space, and discuss what puppets people are interested in making.
Please start collecting supplies so that we can check in on Feb 22 to see what materials we still need to find before the workshop on Mar 4.
Some suggested useful puppet supplies include:
* Cardboard of all sizes, but particularly big cardboard boxes.
* Newspaper and brown paper bags for papier mache
* Backpack frames
* Wood of all sizes, but particularly big sticks or poles
* Paint, paintbrushes, rags
* Cloth and fabric
* Cheesecloth
* Utility knives and blades
* Glue, wheatpaste
* Masking tape, duct tape
* Foam rubber markers
* Heavy staplers
* Clay
* Wire, wire mesh, and string
* Creative items, like clothing, faux fur, random stuff found in the neighbor’s trash, etc.
* Buckets or anything else that can be made into drums
* Tin cans, bottles, beads, macaroni, and sand to make into shakers.
