[CUGreens] Press Release for Rallies

Below is the press release I typed up for the two rallies. It probably
could be a lot more creative and inspiring, but I only thought of it
yesterday and had to get it out (I had a friend send it by electronic fax
to a bunch of media).

Also, we have a small list of volunteers to help out with the rallies as
far as voter reg. (Tuesday is the last day) handing out lit. Could Cathy
and I be sent that list, and if anyone else wants to volunteer to help
out, email Cathy at cathy@indra.net. Also, if volunteers could show up a
little early, about 15 min. before each rally. If you can only help out
for part of the rally, that's fine.

STUDENTS FOR GREEN PARTY CANDIDATES PRESS RELEASE

CAMPUS RALLIES FOR RON FORTHOFER AND RALPH NADER

Students for Green Party Candidates is sponsoring two rallies, one for Ron
Forthofer and the other for Ralph Nader.

The rally for Nader will be Tuesday Oct. 10th at 12 Noon at the University
Memorial Center Fountain and will last an hour. Confirmed speakers
include: A representative(s) of the Campus Crusade for Queers; Damon
Haley, Youth Coordinator for the Nader campaign in Colorado; Brian Klocke,
a graduate student in Sociology at CU-Boulder; and Nancy Harvey, a
long-time Green Party activist in Boulder and Colorado. Invited speakers
include: Ira Chernus, a Religious Studies Professor at CU-Boulder.

The rally for Ron Forthofer will be Wednesday Oct. 11th from 1 PM to 1:30
PM in the North Dining area of the University Memorial Center. Confirmed
speakers include: Chris Goodwin, President of the American Federation of
State, County, and Municipal Employees local 3592 (CU-Boulder staff); A
representative(s) of the Campus Crusade for Queers; nationally-known
socialist-feminist author Barbara Ehrenreich; and congressional candidate
Ron Forthofer.
