[CUGreens] Minutes for 10/11/00

An abbreviated meeting with few attendants due to Barbara Ehrenreich's talk
and the debate protests (which made it onto the Channel 4 news at 10).

Upcoming events: "Eat Until You Ralph!" -- pancake breakfast to benefit the
Nader campaign.  This Sunday, 10/15, from 9-1 in the Oddfellows Hall (above
the Boulder Army Store, which is east of the pedestrian portion of the Pearl
St. mall).  Pancakes and other breakfast-like comestibles will be present,
as will pool and ping-pong tables.  Requested donation of $5.

Tuesday, 10/24, will be the student-run "mock presidential debate" in Earth
Sciences 186.
Wednesday, 10/25, will be the 2nd District congressional debate in Hale 270.
Wednesday, 10/18, yours truly will be on a "get out the vote" panel at the
Chataqua Community House.  Live music by Wendy Wu and another group who's name
escapes me at the moment.

Stuff in progress: Campus Crusade for Nader is still working on room and date
issues -- we need to start planning the event itself.

Miriam and Cy are working on a legalese-to-Green translation of the Little Blue
Book so that ordinary students know what the ballot issues are.

The CU Vote 2000 coalition will be undertaking a voter registration drive; more
on that when I know more.

We need to start chalking again.  Carry some sidewalk chalk around with you
and plaster our catchy slogans around between classes.
What catchy slogans?  Join the cugreens-discuss group and suggest some.  We
may also want to chalk/post single-issue breakdowns in eyecatching manners.

We should organize some times (possibly near the on-campus debates) to hand
out leaflets.  Fred has suggested some people go topless with NADER painted on
their chests, possibly at football games.

I'll be absent from the next meeting, but have fun and be productive!  Election
Day is less than a month away.
