[CUGreens] Upcoming Events

Only 6 days left! Put forth your last burst of energy and then sleep in on
Wednesday morning!

Ralph Nader will be at the Paramount Theater in Denver tonight (Thursday) at
8pm. Tickets will be available at the box office starting at 10am. Ralph will
be talking to media from 8 until 9, so there will be various other speakers
for the first hour. Admission is $5. If you need a ride, contact Cyrus
(cyrus.hall@colorado.edu) or meet with other Boulder folks in the Basemar
Wild Oats parking lot at 6:30.

Jim Hightower will not physically be on campus this Sunday, as he'll be at the
D.C. Super Rally. But you can still see him in Humanities 1B50. The rally
simulcast starts at 11am our time; Nader will probably be on stage at 1pm our
time.

After the rally, join the publicity effort. Meet in front of the Wilderness
Study Group office (in the UMC, near the forum room) at 3pm on Sunday to chalk
Get Out The Vote messages all over campus. At 6pm, meet in the same place to
do phone calling. More phone calling will take place on Monday night, same
time, same place. We will also be going door to door on Monday night -- if
you'd like to do this in the dorms with me, send me an email. There will be
an open mic by the fountain from 10-2 on Monday and Tuesday for students to
encourage people to get out and vote.

If you're interested in doing voter information tabling this week or next,
contact gcassady@mailcity.com -- we can have Green information on a table
beside the main table, which must be non-partisan.

On Tuesday, carry signs around and talk to folks. Wear buttons and shirts
(five members of our group will be wearing shirts which spell out NADER).
Pick up some green Jolly Ranchers and encourage folks to vote green. I'll try
to make sure there's some easy-to-carry precinct information. I believe that
people are not allowed to display any campaign materials or encourage anyone to
vote a particular way within 500 feet of a polling location, so keep your
distance. I'll do some research and give y'all exact details.

Chalk your classrooms. Inform people about the super rally simulcast (11/5,
11am general, 1pm for Nader, Humanities 1B50). Ask (and chalk) "Do you
agree with Ralph?" Include the date of election day (Tuesday, 11/7) and
Green websites -- www.votenader.com and www.forthofer.com Remind your
classmates, friends, enemies, neighbors, and family to vote on Tuesday and
(where appropriate) to vote Green!
