(PLEASE BROADCAST THIS EMAIL FAR AND WIDE!)

Hello fellow Greens and caring citizens of planet Earth!

Just want you to be there on Saturday, Jan. 20 at Noon when Greens join
other groups -- we're still trying to find out which ones!? -- to protest
the corruption of our democracy as President-"Select" Bush gets sworn into
office! We will meet on the West steps of the Capitol.

After a small gathering on Mon. eve, we came up with a few areas to focus
our protest on. The overall theme is "Corruption of Democracy." We want to
highlight how this campaign's debacle of the democratic process brought to
the fore the dire need for: 1) Campaign Finance Reform, 2) Electoral Reform,
in particular Instant Run-off Voting (IRV), and 3) full voting rights in a
non-discriminatory basis for ALL Americans, including former felons who are
kept from voting for life, even after they have "paid their dues to
society." (I heard reports of 400,000 people in FL alone who had no voice
as a result of this law, not to mention those who were wrongly accused of
being felons and purged from voter lists.)

And of course we intend to highlight how Bush's governmental policies will
be the antithesis of all the Greens stand for! So bring signs and come
prepared to lend your body and voice to stand up and be counted >> "Election
2000 - We will not forget!" (A gentleman from Denver I spoke told me this
is what his sign would say.)

> SUGGESTION: All Greens wear a Green armband and, of course, your Green
buttons.

> SIGN MAKING GATHERING IN BOULDER: 6-7:30 PM, Fri. 1/19, at the Rocky Mtn.
Peace & Justice Ctr. Boulder. For anyone who wants to come and help make
some signage, the RMPJC in Boulder has offered a room at their space at 1520
Euclid in Boulder. Take a left into the big room after you come in the door.
Please bring your own posteboard. One big white sheet markers, stakes and
staple gun will be available.

> ANYONE HAVE A PA SYSTEM WE COULD USE? We do have a microphone. We have a
megaphone, but it would be nice to have a PA system if possible. We have a
little street theatre planned.

> CARPOOLING & BUS: We are asking people to meet at 10:30 AM in front of
the Wild Oats in the Basemar Shopping Center; carpool will leave at 10:45
am. Easy bus rides available too. The B bus leaves every 30 minutes
between 8am and 6pm, on the half-hour; then take the 16th Street Mall
shuttle and walk over to the Capitol.

> PR - We submitted a Public Service Announcement to KGNU and hope it will
be aired. With the last minute planning, we were way past their deadline of
two weeks ahead! I am sending out a Press Release Thursday so hopefully
we'll get some coverage.

ONE LAST NOTE: It was suggested that we all have our answers ready in case
anyone chides us for getting Bush elected in the first place!!!!!!

Hope to see you there!

Nancy Harvey
