APRIL 2001, in Quebec City; Free Trade Area of the 
Americas; the heads of state, finance ministers, and trade 
ministers from every country in the western hemisphere 
(except Cuba) will meet at the Summit of the Americas to 
dot the i's and cross the t's on a hemispheric free trade 
agreement known as the FREE TRADE AREA OF THE AMERICAS 
(FTAA). Think NAFTA on steroids, creating the largest free 
trade market in the world, and furthering the corporate 
agenda at the expense of workers, communities, and the 
environment. Activists throughout the Americas are gearing 
up to challenge and protest this latest step in CORPORATE

MAY 9 - 11, at  Honolulu Convention Center in Hawaii;  
another global monster meeting:  the Asian Development 
(Destruction) Bank (ADB), a multilateral development bank 
very similar to the World Bank which concentrates its 
efforts in the Asia/ Pacific area, a very UNDEMOCRATIC 
INSTITUTION with major "development" projects it sponsors 
including 35 dams on the Mekong River in the Laos-Cambodia 
area of Asia which will affect millions of people and 
endanger wildlife;  an announcement sent from hawaii as an 
invitation to visit extended to all who oppose the WTO
