The person who sent this to me is real and not a
hoaxter. This really happened to them and to one other
person on the announcedan list who called me today.

I don't know the original source of this warning but
since there are more
people capable of writing bad scare letters than good
(or even bad) viruses

The virus in this warning did not appear in any of the
lists of known real
viruses or any of the known hoaxes so it is hard to
tell if it is real or
not. The important thing is to be aware of the dangers
but not susceptible
to every scare e-mail out there.

By the way, the AnnaKournikova virus is a real one,
considered high risk by
both McAfee and Symantec (the makers of Norton) that is
making the rounds
again so something to be watching out for. For more

THE TROJAN A MTX Virus!!  This is a message to all of
you who we are in
email touch with to let you know that we had 57  files
infected from
this virus, and it was repairable without great loss
(except $140.
repair fee - well spent).  We are guilty of not
updating our anti-virus
scan on our Norton program.  Now we will be vigilent.
Because this most
likely came from an attachment forwarded to us, we are
asking that if
you want to send us an item, please copy and paste it
onto a new email
message before sending.  Then we will be sure not to
pass any trouble
along.  Thank you for doing this. We are just sorry
that one friend lost
everything on her computer because of this virus.  June
