Montrose Meeting

All,

We wish the organizers of the fundraiser/rally in Denver for Nader the best
of luck and hope for a wonderful turnout with this impromptu notice. Three
days to organize a rally must have everyone going in circles.

For those still open to visiting the Western Slope, I would like to reiterate
that McClure Pass is actually out of the way to Montrose. Grand Junction is
a much better route and faster. For those who wish a more scenic view, there
is a shortcut across the Grand Mesa into Cedaredge from DeBeque (the town not
the canyon), which cuts off 50 miles but is slower and two-way traffic.

The meeting in Montrose will still take place on Sept. 9, at 10:00am, however
in light of the recent circumstances with the majority of the Front Range not
being able to attend, we may not have a quorum for a state GPOC meeting.

We still plan to discuss issues pertinent to Green Party activists be they
local, regional, and/or state and would sincerely appreciate your presence
and participation.

As for accommodations, we have offered our residences. I have stated several
times at the June meeting and since then that I personally could accommodate
up to nine persons or more (9 beds) at my B&B, if there was an overflow from
the Montrose area. It takes 40 minutes to drive to Montrose from my house,
one of the major factors that Delta did not host this meeting. Anne Hill has
offered personal residences in Montrose throughout this period. Bill
McCormick questioned who was planning to attend and stated that the Montrose
people were ready (to accommodate) over the GPOCC list.

As for the Montrose Rally, we can only hope that on Nader's way back to
Durango he may wish to stop by his rally (100 yards off of Niagara). We will
still have speakers and music and a whole lot of folks interested in what he
has to say. Just sorry we did not make a minimum charge for the event. Of
course, that would have eliminated the Latino community in this area and the
20 or so Western State College students from Gunnison, and Mesa State
students from attending.

Hope to see many of you soon.

Che' Davies
