I tend to agree with Sandy, when he says that NPR (probably PBS) is more
a (phony liberal) corporate front than a legitimate alternative news
source.

Many, possibly nearly all progressives share this view. Until recently,
Pacifica was a trusted news source, and radioforchange.com gives some
true alternative perspectives.

NPR/PBS shows contributors read like the fortune 500 because they are the
fortune 500 for the most part, with some liberal but very corporate
foundation grants thrown in. Adding more insult, corporate sponsors now
get short advertising "plugs" at the top of programs they bought and paid
for.

"All Things Considered" does not consider ALL things, especially those
that might pose a threat to real money and power.
