The problem is that viruses are constantly being changed to avoid the
programs which scan for them. So you have to keep updating your anti-virus
program.

One good way to avoid many if not most new viruses is to avoid Microsoft's
Outlook program which is their most common target.

It's also nice not to use the products of a convicted monopolist- Bill
Gates. That's one reason I often suggest that we NOT use MS Word .doc
attachments, but instead just PLAIN TEXT. This also prevents problems with
some of us having older versions of Word, or not having it at all.
