PROPOSAL NUMBER: 009-05

1. Date proposed 7/22/05. Sponsor: Charlie Green GPCO Co-chair

2. TITLE:
Reinstatement of the Southwest Greens

3. FULL PROPOSAL:
Please reinstate the Southwest Colorado Greens local to active status in the Green Party of Colorado.

4. BACKGROUND:
Due to not having a representative at the July 9 State Meeting, the Southwest Colorado Greens were declared inactive. The reason a member of the SWCO Greens failed to attend was the unavailability of all the active members.

5. Justification/Goals:
=======================
The Southwest Colorado Greens have been active throughout the year, and regret missing the State Meeting. Reinstating the SWCO Greens will increase the active membership of the GPCO and allow them to continue their work.

6. Pros and Cons:
=================
Pro:
An additional local will represent the GPCO and SWCO Greens benefits from affiliation with the Green Party at a state level.
Con:
The disenfranchisement of the members of the SWCOGreens.

7. Alternatives to the proposal:
================================
The GPCO could require additional steps and/or could leave the SWCOGreens inactive.

8. Supporting statements:
=========================
SWCO Greens has been a highly active chapter for two years, has two members serving in city government, participates in state and West Slope GPCO meetings, meets regularly, and has plans for continuing activities and events in the community.
