PROPOSAL SUBJECT: The USGP Coordinating Committee call to action re: ACLU and corporate personhood

FULL PROPOSAL:
The GPOCC will submit the following proposal to the USGP Coordinating Committee for their discussion and vote: The national Green Party organization, through the state representatives on the Coordinating Committee will issue a call to action to each state Green Party and its local chapter affiliates to contact and pressure all ACLU chapters within the state to recognize that corporate personhood has no constitutional basis and is a threat to democracy; and, therefore, that the Green Party calls on the ACLU to acknowledge that only human beings are intended to enjoy full protection of the Bill of Rights and for it to cease its advocacy for corporations to enjoy the status of natural persons under the law. The USGP national office is asked to issue a statement of the Green Party position challenging the ACLU on this matter.
