Woman of peace and honor. [I go to San Vicente del Caguán to demand guarantees for the civilian population of the Zone, and to say to the people of San Vicente that I am fulfilling my commitment, to be with them in good times and bad, as I told them last October, when Néstor León Ramírez, of the Green Party, was elected mayor of their city. San Vicente, and all the communities in the Zone of Detente, played their part for peace, accepting that their territory would be turned into the goodwill zone; and now, all Colombians must play our part for them, so that theirs does not become a land of barbarism and terror.]
-- Íngrid's words on February 22, 2002, explaining why she would go to San Vicente; she was kidnapped the next day.
