September 2002 Meeting, Oklahoma County Green Party:

Dear Friends,

Just a quick account of last night's meeting.

Curtis Andrew Beckwith visited with us from Tulsa, with information on the Bioregionalism Congress next month, and the cooperative effort with the Greens in Arkansas on programs on water.  We want to support strongly the Water Quality Symposiums planned.  One will be in Fayetteville Oct. 20 10:30-4 pm.  The other in Tulsa Nov. 2, 1-4 pm.  Belinda Silverstar is the contact person for the event if you want more information or want to volunteer to help (bsilverstar88@aol.com).  This kind of cooperation across state lines could be really important; after all, we do share a watershed!

We talked about the upcoming State Party Founding Convention (imagine cheers, balloons, and general hoopla here):  November 16 at Cleveland Co. Fairgrounds.  Registration will begin at 8:30, with the program scheduled 9:30-6.  Continental breakfast and lunch included.  We discussed proposed bylaws and agreed to provide $150 of our treasury towards the convention.

A list of a bunch of upcoming events was distributed, most of which have appeared on this list serv.

We discussed ballot access.

Finally, we held an election.  The new Steering Committee includes [drumroll here]:
