GREEN FORUM

Suburban Philadelphia Greens (SPG) have a monthly TV program called GREEN FORUM, produced by Elizabeth Fattah and friends. At present it can only be seen in Radnor Township on their cable access channel. We are working to get more cable access channels to show it.

Next meeting:  Tentatively scheduled for Thursday, February 14th, from 7 PM to 8:30 PM at Studio 21 in Wayne (a public access TV station), next to the Baptist Church and across from the movie house on Lancaster Avenue.

The following are some of the programs we have aired:

Taped in September, it shows environmental activists demonstrating at the Federal Building in Philadelphia against the the government's program as it relates to food. It is followed by a discussion with Ken Shepley, a medical researcher on labeling of GE foods and the pro and cons of genetically engineered food.

Bovine Growth Hormone
Ken Shepley, along with moderator Elizabeth Fattah, discuss the potential risks of injecting cows with BGH to improve milk production. Also clips from a Florida TV program on this subject.

Slaughter Houses
Elizabeth Fattah talks to PETA (People for the ethical treatment of Animals) representative Bruce Friedrich on factory farming, slaughter houses and the moral and environmental impact of these practices.

Iraq
