| Why the Green Party? | Why the Green Party?
The Green Party sets a higher standard for democracy. The Green Party takes NO CORPORATE contributions. This sets us apart from other political parties, and the result is extra effort and a greater commitment to our values. This way we have real democracy without conflict of interest. _______________ Candidates of other political parties don't have their party's support to protect you from industry that puts profit above people's health and quality of life. A politician's duty is to PROTECT YOU by making sure your tax dollars are improving your community, and not given as handouts to large corporations. We must enforce and IMPROVE LAWS to insure the health and safety of people is above business profits! Too often other parties give "lip service" and little is done. The answer is a political party that sets a higher standards to defend the interests of people in a world where corporations have more rights that you. We have polluted air, genetically modified foods and contaminated water growing at alarming rates. We need renewabe energy instead of foreign oil to reduce polution, and we need to set higher standards for food, air and water safety! Big business is sending US jobs out of the country by the millions. We need to manufacture locally with CEO's taking a paycut instead of you and me! Cancer rates are at an all time high (Nearly 1in2!) We must ENFORCE LAWS and fines for toxins produced by industry! Taxes are getting higher for the average person and the wealthy keep getting tax cuts. We need to tax the wealthy their fair share so the average person has more to spend and "trickle up economically!" Will Enron excutives see any real jail time for the stealing, lying and cheating of energy consumers that has cost tax payers millions? The Green Party's answer is stricter punishments for corporate crime. It takes a greater committment to values and more local organizing to grow without corporate donations. But what you get is politicians working for YOUR INTERESTS and not just those of big business! Politicians giving you real choices. Politicians that make the laws that effect you! Taxes, rent, food, air and water safety, good paying local jobs and affordable housing all depend on who is in elected office! Politicians fighting for international justice not empire! We need politicians writing new laws to prohibit special interest money in politics and to be sure those laws do what the people expect. New laws to END International trade treatise like NAFTA and the FTAA that are sending US jobs overseas (look at where your cloths are made)! new laws that provide free media time to qualified candidates. New laws supporting international justice not war! This takes a committment to values and hard work, but we are the fasting growing political party in the US and we're building a new foundation of elected officials without special interest money. This is why you need the Green Party for real choices and real vision! VISION The Green Party's vision of political change believes that as we cut the ties to corporations and monied interests, OVER TIME we replace comprimised politicians with community advocates. It is corporate and monied influence that has compromised our city, state and countries political decisions. Decisions on laws that are meant to regulate and REFORM business when needed. Even the most progressive politican's vision in other parties will ultimately be comprimised because other political parties are tied to, or dependant on, monied interests. This is why you need the Green Party's higher political standards for real values, real debate and real democracy! Comprimised politicians and comprimised political parties lack vision and turn their backs on the reduction of pollution in our air, water and food, they turn their backs on corporate accountability and do not PROPERLY TAX CORPORATIONS and THE WEALTHY. They turn their backs on affordable housing and neighborhood crime. This is why the Green Party takes no corporate contributions. This keeps the vision of the Green Party clear. You have to elect candidates who are not tied to special interest money to get real political change! The Green Party is free to pursue a VISION of higher standards in politics. We then write new laws to prohibit special interest money in politics! new laws giving free media time to qualified candidates for REAL DEBATE. Real debate on living wage jobs, affordable housing, fair trade not free trade, fair taxation, air and water quality, universal health care, neighborhood safety and renewabe energy! Register and vote Green to build a new democractic party working for you and your community! PLEASE JOIN US, OR HELP US BY DONATING YOUR TIME OR MAKING A CONTRIBUTION. Thank you! |
