program for Microsoft-Intel computers.
Try WinSCP for MS-Windows.

If you care about the security of your and your friends' PCs,
you should not use Microsoft Outlook Express (MS-OE) for email.
Consider upgrading to a more secure product, such as
``The Bat!,''
Pegasus Mail,
or Mulberry.
If you must use MS-OE, turn off the "preview pane" feature.
It launches viruses.
Empty ``To:'' line.
If you leave the ``To:'' line blank when you compose an email
message with MS-OE, MS-OE generates a malformed message.
Some ISPs have learned that these messages are almost always junk,
and reject them. The
Internet email specification requires a valid ``To:'' line
containing at least one valid address.
Do you have a Microsoft machine that's connected to the Internet?
They're more difficult to secure against intruders than
unix systems. You should subscribe to
BugtraqNT
and Microsoft Developer Network and apply the
steady stream of
security patches and fixes. It's a full time job.
Building a secure facility for handling money is a job for
professionals. Running it is a job for bonded staff and CPAs.
Luckily for you, there are many of them out there who want to
do the job for you
PayPal is a membership organization.
They let you create an account and attach it to your checking account.
Their "Premium" and "Business" accounts let you accept payments by
credit card, but your donors are required to have (or create) an account
with them to do it. They take 2.2% of each payment.
Amazon
has an "Honor System" which lets you accept credit card payments.
They also take about 2%. Your donors don't have to create an account.
Amazon has abused the patent system to unfairly compete, and many
online civil rights groups boycott them for it. They are also destroying
independent "bricks and mortar" booksellers.
Kagi doesn't have those
problems, but charges high fees.
Propay
charges a one time $35 setup fee, but then they are cheaper than
most merchant account resellers, and don't have membership or patent issues.
