Green Party of Iran Supporters Attacked in Tehran

According to supporters of the Green Party of Iran, a candle light vigil in Mohseni Square in Tehran on Tuesday September 18 in solidarity with the American people came under attack by vigilantes organized by the Iranian regime. During the vigil, Green Party of Iran supporters carried placards and signs protesting environmental destruction in Iran. Police confiscated the signs, and according to reports some protesters were injured and an unknown number of people were arrested.

The Green Party of Iran condemns the brutal acts of vigilantes and police against our supporters and other peaceful demonstrators and asks other Green Parties and human rights organizations to condemn such acts. With the attack against people who were protesting terrorism, the Iranian regime shows that its condemnation of the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington was insincere.
